FUR OUT THE CLOSET:

Stray cats generally have a tough time.

Sadly, humans forget that they have created the problem of so many abandoned animals.

To alleviate the suffering of stray cats, the SPCA in Durban (a coastal city in South Africa) has opened a “kitty hotel” to accommodate nearly a dozen homeless cats.

General manager Caroline Smith said the project was inspired by European cat cafes.

She explains, “Each cat has his or her own sleeping box – perfect for those winter nights when the offices are closed and the humans have all gone home”.

“Members of the public sponsor the upkeep of each resident feline”.

It is heartwarming to know that there are some people who care about the well-being of our feline population ❤
