The Association of Animal Welfare Organizations and many activists (and their dogs!) from all over Bosnia Herzegovina organised protests today, Sunday, 15th December, in front of the building of Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia & Herzegovina. Some activists from Serbia and Croatia also joined the protest.
Official public media reports state that 200 people attended the protests, other media report that there were 300 people. (PLEASE NOTE: see this post regarding these reports. There were in fact thousands, not hundreds of protesters.)
We also heard that during the protest a car that was passing by stopped and people threw out a German Shepherd.. it was taken to dog pension by activists…
Local news reports (in Serbo-Croatian):
Hundreds of citizens protest in Sarajevo against the euthanasia of dogs
Several hundred citizens of the protests said: Stop euthanasia of dogs!
