Good write-up on the film. As a self-described sci-fi geek, I loved the whole monsters-versus-robots concept, and the action sequence in the film’s middle in the streets of Hong Kong was great. However, I also agree that more character development could have made this an even stronger film. I wasn’t a huge fan of the two scientist characters, and if they had been left out, the film probably would have benefited from more time with the other main characters.
Thanks Ashley.
I too wanted this movie to be a box office smash.
Unfortunately, the movie suffers from the usual drawbacks of a CGI heavy summer blockbuster, like weak characterization, poor scripting and a general lack of humor.
B2B.
